Malteser Aid Slovakia on The Exhibition of Social Activities in Nitra
The Seminary of St. Gorazd, on the occasion of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, organized an Exhibition of Social Activities. Malteser Aid Slovakia, under the leadership of its President Július Brichta, was also present on the event. The main goal of the event was to promote various relief organizations dedicated to help people in need. Another ambition of the exhibition was to facilitate cooperation between entities which objective is to help the people struggling for life and the sick. The Exhibition started with Holy Mass presided over by Bishop of Nitra Viliam Judák and Eparch of Bratislava Peter Rusnák. Exhibition continued in the meeting of delegates of Forum of the Christian Institutions, Diocese of Nitra, Diocese of Nitra Caritas, City Municipality and of the Department of Social Affairs of Nitra Self- Governing Region. Delegates were presenting and discussing their social and charity activities. Bishop Judák and Katarína Hulmanová, the President of Forum of Christian Institutions, were present during the whole event. Both Major of Nitra Jozef Dvonč and Vice-Major of Nitra Ján Vančo were present during the second part of the exhibition. Both officials along with Bishop Judák and other participants expressed their gratitude for projects and activities of many relief organizations operating in Nitra and Nitra Region. They expressed that they are open to further cooperation on this field, especially in helping homeless people, refugees, Roma people or abused women. During the exhibition, President of Malteser Aid Slovakia Július Brichta presented activities of the Order of Malta in Slovakia and its projects for the poor, the sick and the suffering. He expressed readiness to cooperate in mentioned areas.
The Exhibition of Social Activities is held under the patronage of the President of the Slovak Republic Andrej Kiska from 3rd to 22th October 2015 in Košice, Rožňava, Trnava, Bratislava, Nitra and Trenčín. This Exhibition was however held under the patronage of Bishop Viliam Judák of Nitra and which theme was “The Way of Poverty”.
